bill-and-billy

Bill Feid's love of hot dogs started as a young boy. As a child growing up in Chicago, hot dogs were a traditional pre-Thanksgiving meal in the Feid household. Every Thanksgiving day, Bill's father would pack the kids up and head downtown for hot dogs while his mother stayed home preparing the turkey. And so began Bill's love of the hotdog and the good memories he associates to this day with the dog.

When Bill entered school, hot dogs were a special treat on the lunch menu requiring a special ticket for redemption in the lunch line. Well, the special hot dog lunch days delighted Bill. He was even more delighted when he discovered that if he could relieve other kids of their lunch tickets for the day, he was able to get seconds, thirds or even fourths on hotdogs. The stories of how Bill would acquire extra lunch tickets on hot dog day are still told at reunions to this day.

Bill's love of hot dogs did not end with his educational career. Once Bill finished school and entered the professional world, he quickly discovered ways to alter his travel arrangements so that he could indulge in the best dogs where ever he happened to be. Bill is recognized in many airports which sell hot dogs as well as many local spots across the U.S.

Bill is very excited to have the opportunity to share his love of the dog with others at Billy's Gourmet Hot Dogs. At Billy's, homage is shown to those who have contributed to the hot dog industry through the art work on our tables.
